We’re different. Remember that. We’re insightful, and remember that too, and remember that a big reason why we’re insightful is that we’re different. Andover Intel is based on a simple principle, which is that to understand tech, you have to understand what tech buyers are doing, expecting, justifying. We’ve established a user contact program that offers free, no-strings, commentary and basic answers to questions to end users of technology. We’re using that to frame our views, and we’re then communicating those views to everyone, on this website, also at no cost and with no strings.
This user program (which, if you’re a technology user rather than a provider, you can join) is augmented by a base of users we’ve been in regular contact with for decades. Today, the total number is over four hundred users whose views we assimilate. This isn’t a formal survey, it’s the outcome of an exchange of views, so we don’t represent the results as being “survey” results and you shouldn’t expect them to be totally consistent, because technology users respond to market conditions and look at things they hear about and are important to them. But the good news is that they’re timely, and they’re filtered so that we don’t include comments and views from people who aren’t really customers for the stuff they’re talking about.
What you read here is unbiased except in the sense that we’re biasing in favor of the buyer. We won’t accept money or favors to appear here. We won’t accept contributed content or story ideas. We won’t treat clients any differently than we treat others in regard to how we talk about them, because we’re committed to taking the buyer’s side and not the seller’s.
There’s a lot going on in tech, and there are a lot of stories about it. The great majority of those stories are based on vendor press releases and contacts, and they offer what the vendors want to offer. We don’t do that, because, remember…we’re different. Stop by here often and you’ll see.
